About Our Logo

George and Verna.

Those are the names of two old oak trees standing in the middle of a hay field on our family farm. They stand in one of my favorite places on earth.

I’ve always loved trees - they symbolize life, growth, and deep attachment. Not only are trees often green and produce flowers or fruit, but so long as they stand their ground they grow in stature every day. Such is life. In life there are seasons of green and growth where we produce fruit and flowers and work hard every day. There are seasons where we stand tall proudly holding up or sparkling accomplishments and live in the glory of our moments of triumph. There are seasons when our leaves have turned magnificent shades of red and gold and we remember when times were good and we were growing. There are seasons of barrenness and gray, the season where we need time to recharge and remember how to grow again. And there is the storm season. Whether big or small storm season always comes, but if the trees roots are strong and have grown deep it can withstand the pressures of the wind. These “roots” that hold us steady and help us grow can come in many different forms such as family, jobs, passions. But the greatest “root” will always be the love of Christ and the hope we have which anchors the soul. (Hebrews 6:19).

These two trees stand out from the rest in stature and placement. This means they have stood the test of time through storms, hay cuttings, and who knows what all else. They represent strength and have been an (at one time a daily) inspiration each time I see them. They are clearly visible from and to the west of the road making for some truly breathtaking sunsets. I’ve seen some of Gods most beautiful handiwork as the backdrop to those trees. These trees are special, that’s why they get names and the special honor of being our name and logo. We hope they continue to inspire us (and now you too!) to persevere and keep growing no matter what storms come our way - big or small.

To George and Verna. My trees. 💚
